Punchcode Programming Bootcamp, Day9

I made it to class. I took notes. I answered some questions correctly. So why in the hell is this homework kicking my ass all up and down the block?

We covered a very narrow topic range with respect to JavaScript arrays; just 4 common JS methods.

.filter
.forEach
.map
.reduce

Admittedly they are 4 very useful methods, which explains why I cannot finish my homework tonight. I think I'm going to need a few more days before I can really grasp how to use these tools effectively. WHEN to use them...I think I have a good handle on that. But that is only half the battle. Its like knowing that channel locks are used in plumbing but you don't know from which end to grab them.

I think the other part of my extreme confusion is from the class setup itself. A lot of the learning comes from the "get out there and find it" method. You do learn a lot this way. But I think in this particular case, more guidance would have been very helpful. Maybe some more examples and use cases? I don't know. But what I do know is that I have to choose between sleep and homework and when you get older its a lot more difficult to choose homework!

One good thing though is that I did last night's homework correctly. I'm still in shock. Its possible that this is a cruel joke.

On a side note, I have ants coming into my house. Not a big deal...the exterminator is coming in a couple days and I've stemmed the problem by laying Terro ant traps. But now I've got the phantom itches...when you see bugs and then you start itching because you imagine they are all over you. And I've been scratching and swatting imaginary bugs for the past 4 hours.

Not like that's the reason I can't figure out how to properly use querySelector to manipulate the DOM.
