Punchcode Programming Bootcamp, Day 22
Never before has a single image been so relevant in the history of images, or relevancy.
Our project for today was to create a contact list in React. This contact list should be dynamic, not hard-coded, and should feature routing through the contacts in the list. We spent the entire class walking through an example of routing and building a list with dynamic links. We used a lot of the exact same methods that would be used in building a contact list. Really, the only differences would be in styling and handling the array of objects that makes up a contact list (name, address...).
And yet those subtle differences took me behind the dumpster, smacked me in the back of the head with a beer bottle, took my wallet and my shoes and left me feeling like a broken man!
Lessons like this bother me because it shows that things are just not settling in yet. Which I suppose is fine, because its a hard subject and I'm learning everything over the course of weeks and not months or years. It would be like taking my 4 year biology degree and condensing it down into one semester. All the knowledge in 1/8 of the time. But it doesn't make me feel confident. its hard to go to class when your head hurts everyday from all the studying and lack of good sleep. I literally woke up feeling decent until I remembered that I didn't finish my homework...then my head started to throb.
I can't imagine that studying more is the answer. Studying smarter is probably a better idea. I've got a couple of Youtube videos queued up and ready for the weekend. I got about halfway through one tutorial that did help to make sense of things. I'll have to make time this weekend for some smart studying. Rewatching our classroom videos is helpful too.
For this week at least, that dog and I have so much in common.
