There is a difference between motivation and discipline. It's easy to see something cool and to say "I will do it" but then the hard work starts. You have to do it every day until you achieve your goal and this is where the most people give up because they start to reach their limits and realize it is not eazy.
Working hard and persistent is the key, but not anyone will achieve it.
