Ah yes. I read about this one. The dash with cash with no ability to burn trash.
We politically crucified this project for years, and at this time, on THIS day in question -- we raised holy hell about the fancy "shrimp and shovels" dinner and tent rental for 10's of thousands of tax dollars in the a/c tents, the little fancy shovels they all got at their tables, the million cops they had to pay double time for, for 150 peaceful protesters and the usual paid off media douchebags locally who BURY the truth for residents, to keep getting their political access.
This is the worst city and governance never making national headlines for GOOD reasons.
The Generals won the Cup 2 yrs ago, that was national news, but they did it on their own with no support from city hall.
I questioned in writing why they waited 2 or 3 rounds, that magic year to get the Gens flag up at city hall.
It only got put up because one of the season ticket holders, DONATED ONE to them, who is a huge developer in town, meaning campaign donations etc etc -- and leaned on them to get it up.
