Springtime Flowers

Spring is in full bloom in our garden, and my hayfever has been kicking in big time of late. I don't really mind, because the bright colours of the flowers, and the birds and bees flying around bring life to was was a dull and dormant winter.

Our fenceline groundcover has taken off well now, and there are flowers everywhere.

For weeks and weeks I was considering pulking the whole lot up because they looked so dead. It's amazing what some rain and warm sunshine can do to bring colour back into the garden. These are really pretty little flowers, and quite remarkable that they form clusters of little flowers, but have purple ones on the sides, fading to white at the top.

Here is a close-up of what I'm talking about.

Not all of them are like that; some are just plain white clusters. I imagine there must be some cross-pollination happening to get a mix like this, and some natural purpose to help the insects find the nectar and pollens in the flowers. It looks really beautiful regardless.
