How I Learned To Be Happy

I'de like to make you some questions: Are you Happy? What is happiness? What do you wish every morning when you leave home?

Happiness could be so obvious, you just need to understand it.

You probably already have heard about the half-full/half-empty glass of water, right? But have you really understood the true meaning?

Happiness is to look at the glass and understand the truth about it. Look at it half-full and be thankful for it or look at it half-empty and think: "Is there anything I can do to change it?". If you cannot do anything to change it then maybe you should accept that fact.

Happiness is not about the quantity of things the world give to you, that is, the "quantity of water in the glass". Happiness is what you think about those things.

- Measure Happiness

You can measure your happiness in a very simple way. Think in every big aspect of your life, like, Family, Friends, Boyfriend or Girlfriend, Parties, Travel, Work, etc... By any chance, thoose things are suppressing your expectations regarding to them? Do you like your work? Do you like your Girlfriend/Boyfriend? Do your friends support you?

If you answer is YES, to these questions then great, you may not know it but you're happy. If the answer is NO, then, can you do something to change this? If you answer is YES, Fantastic, but if it is NO, then, Can you accept that fact?

Happiness is measured by the size of the expectations you have regarding of what you have, what you should have, and what you should experience in your life.

- Don't Replace Happiness With Other Sentiments

Happiness is really easy to understand. Happiness is that contentment feeling that you don't want to get over with. In other words, happiness is to like your world the way it presents to you.

What happens is people often replace happiness with short-life sentiments. You are feeling Unhappy so you go into a party and start feeling better, then you drink and it looks like you're happy, but in reality, you just made your brain to stop thinking in the problems of the past, or in your future worries.

You send your brain too many stimuli so he stops thinking, and if your brain is not thinking straight you think you're happy in that moment.

You Should Go Out

I'm not saying you shouldn't go out, in fact, you should have fun and drink (moderately of course) with your friends. But you need to understand that, if you are not happy, that doesn't gonna make you feel that way and if you abuse that "short-life Happiness" you may end up with alcoholic problems.

Embrace what you have, you never know what the future holds for us all.
