5 books I read in 2017 - #1: Resurrection - Leo Tolstoy (love, singularity, respect)

in #life7 years ago (edited)

"Resurrection" : Leo Tolstoy

the gist in 4 brackets:
{admiration and respect to women} {singularity}
{butterfly effect} {appreciating the true LOVE}

why did I read it?

Matter of fact, reading this book was just like a gift the universe gave me. I had a dream one night, in which I was recommended by someone who I truely admire, to read this novel. I even remember the moment in my dream that I took note of the name of the book at the back of my right hand in a metro station, not to forget.. I won't forget how magnificent the book was in a way that you feel all the micro-evolutions it causes on your mindset..
if I want to summarize: it kills any insolence, excessive pride and harmful vainglory in your consiousness in a way that you can't ignore the sadness u feel for the poor and the unfortunate after reading it..that you deeply believe that even a criminal is not just some guy out of his mind or in love in devil..you feel a singularity in universe and deeply feel that the only cure for any improvement of the society, and the first step is to improve and modify yourself into a better person.
after reading it, you won't feel being different because you're rich or born in a great family or have won so many prizes, actually you won't see yourself as a unique individual that the world is going to worship... Instead, you will acquire the ability to feel the shame of a sinful guy, the sadness of a mother losing her doughter's innoscence and hopelessness of a father being away from family for a mistake he's done for a living...
and the actual present of this book, is nothing but understanding the greatness of love...a love with roots taking all over your heart..that you will never forget the first sparks of it, even if you had skrewed it once mistakenly...you will know that the spirit of a woman or a girl you love, has that much value to stay far far away from anything that can put this purity and loveliness in jeopardy...
you have to contemplate a certain set of principles for your life, love, and social relationships...

"Tolstoy was writing in a style that favored meaning over aesthetic quality."
"immense and immediate effects on reader's mind"
"presenting totally forgotten perspective through life"

It will be appreciated if anyone who read this book before, writes any comment about his/her oppinion...
or your emotional experiences after reading it..

thank you all
