COX or Century link
In my area we have 2 suppliers of Internet. Thanks to AOL and NETZERO never getting their lives together. But I have COX, and have not been impressed with their service. It drops in and out, and I am never close to the MB that I am paying for. They just raised their rates by 50% and for the product I am out. I am on a shared network, and I believe I am down the line from some heavy internet users. .jpg)
Century link, for the same speed is about 50% of the price, and they are offering me a dedicated fiber optic line. I feel that will be way more consistent, and heck my internet can't get any worse. Now if we can just get steemit to be bug free my internet life will be in the fast lane.
Wait, what?!? How does COX justify increasing their rates by 50% in a single move? I can see companies raising their rates somewhat but I don't think I'd accept any explanation for 50%. That sounds like price gouging, something you can do when you have a monopoly or, in this case, a duopoly in the market. I hope Century Link works out for you.
They said I was out of my contract. I was paying 59.99 and now was paying 89.99 and he was like is this affordable???? It is funny how they judge how much they can charge you. Little does he know I signed up with century link 20 min later.
Dedicated fiber is pretty impressive, I would jump all over that.
I am hoping it is, that is why I switched, and it is half the cost. Can't beat that with a stick.
stay away from century link at all costs - they will double bill you (maybe twice in a row if you're lucky) then tell you that's just how the system works - then they will offer you a bunch of misc 'credits' - and their service sucks
really? that sounds like my experience with cox. Are you telling me they both suck?
It amazes me the way some of these providers are able to gauge us on fees. They have been enjoying monopoly situations in many places and are able to pretty much charge whatever they want. Something needs to changes, they are making money hand over first and usually for services that are less than adequate of beyond what we need.
Ya, I totally agree, and most experts say that someday internet will be free, so I guess get your money now?

I live in Korea, and the rate may be a bit expensive, but the speed and coverage are great.
Mobile internet as well as general wired Internet is very good.
