RE: The Myth of Freedom

in #life7 years ago

Interesting perspective @sociomagicka.
The German word Friede best translates into Contentment. That adds another level of complexity as Peace and Contentment are also different things.
In Dutch there is Vrijheid Vrede Tevredenheid (Freedom, Peace, Contentment).
This may be interesting as the Netherlands is the region where the German Language crossed over into English (There are a few documentaries about this you may like)

Rene Girard Sounds french I will have to look in to, never heard of him before. Yet i know that the French are extremely ridged when it comes to language

holofractal feedback loop, Thats something to think about. I see what you mean but can't put the fractal in the picture yet. How it melts together in the holo-universe.

In todays world free is linked to money as in 'no pricetag'. And there is another link to my value of money
post

Then I also find it interesting to look into what people think today what freedom is.

what do people in general want freedom to be?

I think today's world is out of perspective with the over socialised social media (Like steemit) Where people are FORCED to be social to work together, yet nobody seems to want to actually work together on stuff that really matters.

Money is their 'freedom' or better, feardom. The fear of not having enough money.
Slaving away all week to have a little freedom in the weekend. Yet never anything remotely close to being a free human being . In the sense that freedom is seen in general
And here again is another perspective on my article.

I'll need to process what i've just read. before i can make a real opinion on this. As it is an entire new perspective to me.

Thank you for this article!

Let me know when you have processed it. I come from a different point of view than many. For me...the gods never left us. They just changed how we see them. ;)

:-D i think i see that one the same way

Have you read The Origin of Consciousness In the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind?

O thanks, have not read it but have come across material on the same subject. I watch a lot of documentaries and lectures. Mainly hunting for bullshit to find contradictions on subjects. Then you start to see the picture of what they are trying to hide.

I'll give this book a try tonight.

Homer's Illiad? hmmm cool

There are several videos about it on YT and im sure if you dig enough, you could find the audiobook for it. I actually listened to it on Audible. It is a bit dense but more than well worth the read. No matter how fantastical his ideas seem...they have held up to some pretty high scrutiny.

I'll dig for that audio book that reads a lot better then a Pdf :-)
