Yes; while I am new to steemit, I was blogging before most people knew there was a thing. Right now, my online time is extremely limited, but once that is resolved, I will be posting more content.
It is a rookie mistake to push out content with the sole aim of making money. It may get you short term success, but is really not viable over the long term. Hopefully as people become more familiar with the medium, they will realize that and things will sort out. I see a lot of great content out there, but you have to wade through a lot to get to it.
