Hi dear Steemians, I came to a realisation that just knowing peoples problems and truly understanding the cause or causes of the problem is not a solution to the problem. If we know that we or a loved one is troubled and we go the extra mile to find out the deep rooted cause of the problem, this will act as an aid or a pivot point to the solution to the problem but knowing the problem is not a solution on its own.

When we know the problem and its causes, we now have to put up some strategies to handle the said problems. Some of these strategies are:

Strategies for Handling Problems

1) Put yourself in their shoes

To solve a problem for someone, you need to first put yourself in their shoes. Put yourself in the other persons situation so you can better see the angle from which to solve the problem and not hurt anyone.

2) Understand emotions, theirs and yours

If you understand your emotions and other peoples emotions around you, you will better see the best ways to solve your issues for everyone to feel better.

3) Discuss each others perceptions

We know we all have different perceptions but they will continue to be issues and problems between us if we do not sit and discuss and come to a compromise.

4) Listen actively

Listening to someone is the best way to look for a solution to an issue. If you listen properly, you can actually see what the real problems are even when the person talking does not say things in clear language.

5) Show that you understand them

When someone is talking to you and you accept to listen then you owe them a listening ear. When you listen to someone well, you have it as a duty to make them feel you really understand what they are talking about. Proper understanding on both side will be a great platform for solution.

6) Speak to be understood

When you have properly listened, and made the other person know that you understand them, you need to speak to the other person in clear language so they may understand you properly. Unclear language is not permitted in a situation of problem solving, it may hinder its progress.

7) Invent options for mutual gain

When you both have understood each other verbally and other wise, you should both look for binding solutions to your problems which will be of mutual benefit to both of you.

8) Be friendly

In case of problem solving, you should both try your best to be as friendly as possible. To be as civil as possible towards each other is the best way forward. If you are friendly towards each other, you will be able to listen to each other and come to a compromise of mutual satisfaction.

All the above strategies if properly followed will ensure proper peoples problem solving.
