If you got hit on the right cheek, then...

"If you got hit on the right cheek, then turn the left one.”

This expression is written in the Bible. I never understood this phrase and internally resisted what was said. But the Bible is an amazing book. In it everything must be written down in detail and correctly.

Now I understand why I need to turn my left cheek. I'll try to explain to you.

Imagine that there is a person in front of you. Mentally hit him. You hit the right hand, but on the left cheek!
And it is said: "If you are struck on the right cheek, substitute the left one."

Something is not right ... In ancient times, if people wanted to humiliate, they beat on the face not with the palm of the hand, but with the backhand. That's why you got your right hand on the right cheek!

But if a person humbly puts his left cheek, it turns out to be stronger than someone who wants to humiliate him. After humiliating another, you humble yourself first of all. Humbly and calmly enduring strikes, you resist much more than if you acted in a similar way to your abuser.

By turning your left cheek, you show your silent disagreement and fearlessly look in the eyes of the humiliating you.
For example, when we punish our child, and he simply takes everything silently and does not resist, he himself wants to sink through the earth with shame. Shame on yourself!

In this, I think, there is a sense of words from the Bible.
Silent opposition to evil ...

And simply, without violence with the flag of USA to go out into the city and ask a question; "We demand an answer!"
What do you think?

The picture is taken here.

Some powerful stuff there.

Nice post, thanks for sharing.

Hi @sighmanjestah. Thanks for the support.

Thanks you @arsalanahmed. I did not see your answer right away. Up and repost.

I have also read that in those days, using the left hand for anything other than private bathroom behavior dishonors the hand's owner, so giving a slap in the face of a good man with your wiping hand degrades the hitter more than the recipient. Good post. And I am not even a christian, I just care about good and evil in this crazy world, and the language that attends moral questioning#

Thanks for your reply @creationofcare. It does not matter what your belief is. It is only a form. It is important to understand the meaning of life correctly. God is one for everyone, even for those who do not believe.
