Celebrating a religious event in Algeria !
hello steemians
tomorow is a free day in the most of muslim countries and you now what? because we celebrate the Mawlid al nabawi, our (christmas) 😄 .
This night, in all muslim countries, we celebrate the comemoration of our prophete birthday ( muhammed peace be upon him).
celebrated every 12 of rabia el awel (third lunar month of the Hegira calendar.) which is the muslim calendar.
In my country: Algeria, we call it 'el mouloud' which means The birth.
and of course we have some traditions and habits to celebrate this evenement.
Being the biggest country in africa, we find in Algeria differant ways to celebrate in the south for exemple there's a big ceremony where all mens bring their horses and their gunpowder and start singing and dancing with their gunpowder where they finish their dance with shooting with the gunpowder that makes a bautiful colour.
In the north, where i'm, families meets each others make some delicious and traditional food like the "rechta" wish is a sort of nuddles with some zucchini and carrotes and of course a piece of chicken.
People tell stories about the life of the prophete for children and teach them how people should live together in love and peace.
Some other children, specially boys prefer to play with fire crackers, while girls like to do some henna on their hand, making their hands looks like a bautiful art work.
