Another year gone and I'm another year older.

This year I feel even more ancient thanks to the 3 grey hairs I plucked off my scalp a couple of weeks ago and the constant ache in my legs that was never there before.

Yep, this old girl is getting on in her years.

Gone are the weekend long birthday benders, drinking alcohol like a fish and staying up days on end. Not that my mind doesn't want to party.. My mind is game, but my body says No.

So this year was a very quiet celebration with just Hubby & I having lunch at our fave restaurant, which we luckily had to ourselves for the afternoon.

Not wanting to have the same degustation again we opted to select from the a la carte menu.

We began with roasted almonds.

I don't know what they do to these almonds but the were really nice for almonds if you know what I mean.

For entree

Warm smoked pumpkin with blue cheese cream, macadamia praline, pepita

Torched Bonito with Jerusalem Artichoke, dill, pickled cucumber

For main

We chose the same dish. I decided to be pescatarian that day.

Thyme crusted ocean trout with fermented cabbage, radish and saffron mayonnaise

Added a couple of sides..

Fried kipfler potatoes with garlic

Salad with radish, garden herbs and white balsamic dressing

and finally Dessert!!! My favourite course!

Seriously. I only eat the other courses just so I can eat dessert. ;)

I was already losing my mind trying to figure out what to eat first when Scott came out with this special surprise.

Chef Max very graciously whipped this cake for me!

I swear I love this place! These guys always spoil us whenever we come.

Speaking of spoiled!

I ended up with a Trio of Desserts...

..which I ended up passing over to Hubby to help me with because this is just way too much!

We went home soon after, dropping past a house for sale on the way.

Played Diablo 3 for a while, put some movies on and had a nanna nap on the lounge.

Over all such a blessed day being able to go out and have a nice lunch and hearing from my friends and family, and then coming back online to see my gorgeous friend @topkpop wrote a birthday post about @saffisara and myself.

What can I say you guys?
