It is Healthy to disconnect from here and to utilize it on YOUR terms.

People are wired in like little lemmings walking around sipping their snotty coffee while oblivious to what the sky looks like. Try looking up into the cosmos because there is a lot more to see besides how many views and upvotes your latest critique about artisinal Goat Cheese garnered.
While the Flu and other disasters ravage many Steemians, people are worried to post and start World War 3.....this is sad. I am reading my friends rather dismal latest musings and finding myself wanting to say, "AMPUTATE"!
This is a tool and a network. It is a way to connect and also a reason to disconnect. Person after person has or is thinking of "quitting their day job" to Steem full time. I would like to give a little word of cautionary advice...I have seen dozens who were amazingly talented making large sums of money and power disappear overnight.
This can be an app for your life instead of becoming what defines you. In a heard of animals it is usually the heads and tail ends that get taken down first..... food for thought.

I'm on almost all the time but I don't let the platform drive me. If I want to goof off and just roam around or even just read a book, I do. No platform should ever own you.

That is definitely one thing I struggle with especially when I can make okay money while i'm on Steemit. I find it's nice to put the phone down and just spend time relaxing with my family.

no I didn't....yeah, it's great for supplemental and for some main source income though some come on and yell why they didn't get over 5 dollars for their first post ;/

I'm HOOKED though. So unplugging is hard for me. Have been clocking my hours on Steemit (because you know, even understanding what you spend your time on helps...) and they have been crazy. Once I'm settled down I'll probably find it easier to unplug. Now I want to just soak it all up and sort of make a sprint! :-)
I hear ya....enjoying reading is a plus on here versus those who are rather easily spotted as spammy scammers or whatever. It will be interesting to see how this turns out...

That's my problem - I never unplug... or anyway, I do it very rarely... but it is totally needed...
I am friends with some off here who were texting but I also turned my phone off awhile too.....
it is only now that we are expected to be "ON" 24/7 and I refuse to live that way.
If you feel it's needed, maybe it is..... it's amazing how much you won't give a shit about the drama that goes on here ;) <3

Nooooo.......never happening.....(unless it's stuck and I need to restart...) I just take breaks sometimes if needed - from social media. Without turning my phone off though. I'm a communication freak, even when talking about friends and family - I can't really be 'off' for long...
I hear ya', but when people start leaving their 50 millionth biz idea for crypto riches at midnight I start to shut them out
