Teaching Your Conscious Awareness

in #life5 years ago

The Science of Consciousness Mindfulness by Dr. Michael J. Johnson PhD teaches how to become more conscious of your experience in life. As we know, there are many issues in life that we tend to ignore or are not even aware of at times. These issues can be a major cause of pain and suffering in our lives.

So what is conscious awareness? When you think, you are processing information. You are taking in information from the environment around you, from your own thoughts, and from words that you have said. It is through this process that you get a clear picture of your world and you gain insight into how you perceive things. When you learn more about your world this way, you gain insight into how you can make changes in order to improve your life.

The Science of Consciousness Mindfulness breaks down this process of conscious processing in a very simple way. By developing a routine of taking in information, then absorbing it and then becoming aware of it, you are actually using a form of brain exercise called "thought changing." This is similar to brainwave entrainment, but with a much more profound effect. There have been amazing improvements in the quality of people's lives when using this process. They have more energy, they sleep better, they enjoy life more, and have more success in everything they do.

How does this science help you to gain more conscious awareness of your thoughts? One of the best benefits is that it can help you to notice the difference between what is real and what is imagined. While it may seem like your thoughts are entirely separate entities from yourself, they are interconnected. Being aware of this gives you the ability to take action to deal with problems and change the path of your thoughts to one that is more positive.

Another benefit is that your conscious awareness of your thoughts gives you the opportunity to find the connections between thoughts, feelings, behavior and the universe you live in. You no longer need to wonder if what you are feeling is real or an effect of your imagination. When your awareness of thoughts is present, you can find out for sure. What most people fail to realize is that your subconscious mind is also awake and alert to what you are thinking and feeling.

For example, when you are riding in a car and you begin to feel a painful pinch in your belly as you pass a red light, you have no conscious awareness of the fact that you are tensing your abdominal muscles in preparation to shift your weight to the right and avoid paying for the accident. However, your conscious awareness is filled with thoughts of how badly you wish you could control your stomach muscles so you don't hurt yourself while driving. Without conscious awareness of what you are doing, though, you continue to tense your abdomen in order to make the pain go away.

Your unconscious mind is also aware of the way you think and feel. It can learn to control these aspects of your life through conscious awareness. As long as you are not acting on those thoughts consciously, however, your unconscious mind will do it for you. To learn how to control these aspects of your life, you first need to be able to control your own thoughts and feelings. This is the first step toward conscious awareness.

Once you learn how to become consciously aware of your thoughts and feelings, it is easier to learn how to release them from your body. For example, if you are tensed up because you feel pain in your stomach, and you are concerned about firming up as a result of the pain, you can direct your awareness inward by tensing your abdomen muscles until you are fully aware of the tension in your body. Then you can release the tension by flexing and relaxing your legs and massaging your tummy. You can direct your attention to other areas of your body as you do this, too, if you choose. Then you can direct your awareness out and away from the tense area and continue to lead a happy, comfortable and enjoyable life.
