That was so nice of everyone. Isn't it strange how as strangers we can open our hearts to a small terrified domesticated or not animal, yet when it comes to people we turn away and pretend we did not see the homeless person under the bridge, or huddling in a dark corner in the subway.
In places in Florida it is illegal to feed the homeless, but go down to local duck pond and you can feed all the ducks or cats or dogs you want. I am glad a re-connection was made to doggies owners, and am happy for them. Losing a pet can be a very hard thing to deal with.
Yes, it's pretty interesting, I guess we feel more uncomfortable being confronted with 'thinking' beings ending up in a bad situation, as it reminds us that could be us. But our governments don't always handle homelessness well, and oftentimes police can be really crude, taking away some sort of improvised 'homes' of homeless people even though it really doesn't hurt anyone that they sleep there for a few weeks.
But well, for this doggie we had a happy end, and indeed, let's remind ourselves sometimes a person needs the same kind of care <3
