Strong identification makes you an extremist...

We should never be identified with anything in the life, we can take on an idea for the sake of situations around us and depending upon the society in which we live but problem arises when there is no distance between us and our idea.

Mind is essentially a tool which employs an idea or thought as an extension to fulfill its desire. Identifying with an idea provide us security which is the most sought after thing in the society, but this security is what obstruct our path of liberation. It closes our mind, because it is very important for it to protect something with which it identify itself, identification close the doors for new thought and new idea because new is uncertain which most people don't like.

Your strong identification will not let you open yourself to new opportunities, the idea that has been formed in you mind will be protected by you at any cost, because in your experience you are protecting yourself as you have lost the distinction between what is you and your thought.

Don't be slave to your mind or thought or idea, you can create plenty of it. One should be open to everything if one wants to liberate his mind to limitless possibilities.
