You always live in the moment, it is your mind which plays tricks with you, because it can remember the past and project the future.

Like super computers predict weather, but it is just prediction, it has nothing to do with reality, likewise our mind predict the future based on the pre stored data it has.

So being in the moment is all your minds play. Yes, if you could centre your mind in the present it will cease to exist, because what is mind is just information and present is no information, to be precise the moment has no information and so mind will loose it's hold over you.
