Looking at these measures of protection from uninvited guests, I recall my childhood. In the USSR, the balconies of the first floors were often not protected from the invasion. It was believed that it was bad to peek at someone else's windows that you can not climb over the symbolic low balconies. Even if there accidentally hit the ball, it was decided not to climb behind him, but to knock on the apartment and ask the owners to give the ball.
Thieves and murderers were not afraid at night. And only in the afternoon, going to work and to school, locked the door of the balcony to the bolt. And this was enough ...

Two of my friends were passing through Moldova. And they had nowhere to stay, the hotels were busy. Then one of them climbed the balcony of the apartment late at night, in the windows of which there was no light. Lied there right on the floor, putting a suitcase under his head, and snoring. The second hesitated, but nothing to do, and he joined his friend.
With the dawn, they quietly slipped from this balcony, which gave them involuntary hospitality.
