Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will.

We all have our ups and downs in life and sometimes it gets really stressful and overwhelming to keep up with the world around us and trying to be "good enough" in the eyes of other people. We have all had those days when we begin to doubt ourselves and our abilities and start to question whether or not we are actually worth something.

For me personally, it was back in high school when I wanted to be like other kids but I never could. I started to think that something was wrong about me and that's why nobody would want to sit beside me. I kept trying to be like them but in the process, I began to lose interest in the things that I once used to love. I realized after a lot of mistakes, that trying to be good enough for others is only gonna rob you of your own identity.

Even now, as a newbie blogger, I get stressed on thinking about the reaction I'm gonna get out of my blogs and whether or not are people going to like it. I spend hours trying to think of things that are going to be entertaining yet informative to read and if my way of writing is understandable enough for the readers.

It's important to understand that self-doubt does not mean that a person is any less capable. In fact, self-doubt is quite common among teens and young adults. Though, some cases are more severe than others, they all share the same roots. The most common causes of self-doubt are narcissistic parents, comparing self to others, being in a bad company, and living in the past.

It's a hard thing to overcome it especially when it drains down your confidence and strips you off of your self-esteem. Keeping that in mind, I've made this blog to help you regain confidence in yourself and start to trust your abilities instead of doubting them.

See Your Mistakes As Opportunity To Learn.

One of the best way to regain confidence is to change your perception of what mistakes are. Most people see mistakes as a label to set a value of a person's abilities and judge them based on that ridiculous calculation. Instead, what you should be doing is learn from one mistake, and climb on to another and keep learning and improving yourself in the same manner.

Know Your Worth.

Self-doubt will make you feel worthless and will force you to ask yourself, "Am I good enough?". It will make you want to change your own image to fulfill other people's perception of you and their expectations. Knowing your worth can help you resist yourself from the urge of doing the same. Understand what you're capable of and keep heading in that direction.

Distance Yourself From Toxic People.

Oftentimes, the reason for our self-doubt and low self-esteem is not us, but the people who expect us to behave and act a certain way or like a certain person who we're not. They make us feel bad for being ourselves and try to make us believe that the choices we're making are wrong. When in reality, all they're really doing is manipulation and spreading their toxicity. It's best to stay away from these kinds of people as much as possible.
