How To Lift Yourself Up When You Are Feeling Down
Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.
- Confucius
Let's be honest right from the beginning, life isn't fair and it's clearly not as easy as some people like it to show it on their social media. It's the exact opposite, in fact. It's hard, unforgiving, sometimes merciless, and always a challenge. For some of us, it might even come down to do or die if we're not careful.
It's easy to fall down and feel less of yourself between all these troubles especially when all your insecurities and anxieties start to get overwhelming and you no longer feel in control of your own self. We've all been through some serious pain in life and have learned some of the life's greatest lessons from them when we found the courage to get back up.
But unfortunately, not everyone is able to gather that courage all on their own. Sometimes, it does take a little help to stand straight right back up. Here are some ways to lift yourself up when you're feeling down:
Self Reassurance.
No person in your life except for yourself is going to be available for you at all times. Learning how to reassure yourself is one the greatest qualities of people who are able to control themselves at remarkable levels. You need to make yourself feel comfortable in your own skin and take pride for the person you have become after all you have been through.
Remind Yourself Of Your Achievements.
Your achievements don't necessarily have to be something that is hung on the wall or put in a special corner of the house. It can also be who you are as a person. I personally think that being kind and empathetic are way more valuable achievements than winning a gold cup or medal in sports.
Write What You Feel.
Ask anyone who keeps a journal and they will tell you this exact same thing: writing what you feel is like cheating your way into calming yourself down. It works so well that I'm still not sure why so many people don't do it often. It's such a great outlet to let out all your emotions and for some reason, it makes you feel as though you're being heard. Books are the best listeners and if you ever need someone whom you want to share everything with, writing is the way to go.
Great use of words and a good use of the images. I like the detail you have added to this post, you always come out with something good, thankyou!
