In order for a beautiful prolonged life we need to keep our mind and body at a calmful synchronicity, the lighter your mind the lighter your body will feel. Each slow long breath you take will sum up to a prolonged life. Amongst the wonders of the world we unite today by soul and by body and march towards a healthy future.
Try closing your eyes and taking just 10 deep breaths now and see how calm you feel. Imagine doing this for at least an hour each day? The impact it can have on a busy life is just astounding. Let's continue spreading this ancestral knowledge, especially today on the 4th International Yoga Day, with over 153 countries following India's lead. Lets hold hands and march forward into this revolution of believing in ourselves.
Inspite our differences we are still the same by bone and by blood. "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" remains the first precursor of global citizenship as it is understood today, the concept that all individuals are collectively responsible for each other and their shared future.
Modi ji recommended 21st June as it is the longest day of the summer solstice in Northern Hemisphere. Yoga is an invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition, today is the day when lord SHIVA (Adi Yogi) began imparting yoga to his followers and became its first guru.
" India is a repository of an astounding wealth of living patterns and modes of heritage. With about 1,400 dialects and 18 officially recognised languages, several religions, various styles of art, architecture, literature, music and dance, and several lifestyle patterns, the country is the largest democracy with a seamless picture of diversity and unity, perhaps unparalleled anywhere in the world." - Economic Times
India's living cultural heritage has been shaped by centuries of adaptation, re-creation and co-existence. The country's intangible cultural heritage finds expression in the ideas, practices, beliefs and values shared by communities across centuries. It forms a part of its collective memory. Yoga was added to UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage in December 2016.
The international impact of India's soft power was felt long before the term found place in popular parlance in the 21st century.
Here are a few shots from across the globe on 21st June 2018
