Programing Your Mind With Affirmations

Affirmations can be looked at as a bridge to creating a new world of possibility for you. They are phrases that you command to yourself and your mind everyday that help guide you in a better direction than a previous thought that you had.

Affirmations are one of the most powerful tools to manifesting. They show you how you perceive yourself and they tune you in to your vibrational frequency. Your vibrational frequency has a lot to do with your emotions. That’s the thing, while saying affirmations you must have the feeling in your body and mind of exactly what you want to manifest before it has even appeared.

Say for instance, you desire to lose weight and you don’t like the way you look right now. You say to yourself, "I'm fat and I look disgusting." Well, ding ding ding! There is your affirmation that you have been saying to yourself for who knows how long, which was first a thought and then turned into a belief. You continue to say these mean, hurtful words to yourself that don’t feel good which also doesn’t make you want to do anything about it. When you don't feel good, your body reacts to that and sends more messages to your cells and mind to create more experiences of not feeling good. Your body hears everything that you say about yourself, and whatever beliefs you choose to believe about yourself will begin to reflect on the outside of your being. Your physical body is always affected when you are emotionally ‘out of alignment’ in life.

Are any of your habits an obstacle to creating this manifestation in your life? For example, as stated above, you want to lose weight but all you do is sit on a couch and watch TV of other people losing weight and in your head you wish you could do that but you haven't gotten up from the couch and got a gym membership. Remember the universe shows you what you want. Next, is you taking the action to do it. Get out any of the obstacles that are in your way of making this happen. I'll give you a clue, none of the obstacle is "out there", it is all in your mind.

Instead of the "I'm fat and I look disgusting" affirmation, this is where the bridge comes in. You begin to become aware of those thoughts and alternatively you don’t let that thought fill your mind, you release it and say "Although this is what I see now, I can change it, I am going to start eating healthy and going to the gym."

To me I never really was fond of the, "Just change your negative beliefs into the opposite and make them positive ones." You know why? Because no matter if you change your negative beliefs into positive ones, you must believe them and if you immediately change it to "I'm skinny and I look great" you may feel good saying it, but you don’t believe it because that’s not what you see. That's why I enjoy the bridging of affirmations, they are still positive while at the same time giving you action steps of moving towards the goal. It shows you where you are now and how you can walk across to something better for yourself in this moment right now! You can change anything through affirmations. They work instantly, so begin them today!

People that have control over their own minds know that manifesting what they want is always about redirecting their attention to the thoughts that make them feel good and give them an action step. This does not mean that negative thoughts won't come to the surface, you're part of the human experience and there is always that balance. No one can stop negative thinking completely, it's just about becoming aware of the thought and instead, substituting the negative for the positive bridge.

When you are able to control your mind’s thoughts, you can control any outside circumstance that can affect you. You’ll begin to see life move easily, effortlessly and for you, rather than against you. If you don’t force yourself to suggest positive bridged thoughts every day to your mind, you may find that you slowly slip back into a negative mindset.

In order to transform any area of your life, (Relationship, Career, Money, Family, Health) you MUST be willing to leave your old life and old behavior patterns behind. You're entering new territory and what worked for you in that old world is not about to put up with that in your new world. You're about to play a bigger game. When you are playing a bigger game, that calls for a bigger you. Let me get one thing out of the way.. You WILL be tested to see how bad you want what you say you want. The Universe is tricky in that way. You state out loud what you desire and the Universe will present you everything that you don’t want, to see how serious you are about making this change. If you start to see anything like this show up in your world, begin to tell yourself, "I acknowledge and notice that this was part of my old world, I am releasing it and stepping into my new lifestyle."

Mastering your mind has a lot to do with the transfer of stating exactly what you want so that the Universe can acknowledge and respond and send you what you want. So would you rather manifest things that you really don’t want, but you continuously think about them? Or would you rather design exactly what you want and have the Universe gift it to you?

Are you also referring to subliminal affirmations? I see them on youtube, and I believe in the immense power of the subconscious mind, but do you think that using subliminal affirmations can bring forth physical changes in the body?

Yes I am talking about sublime as well! I definitely do believe they can bring forth physical changes in the body if you believe that! :)

Affirmations, a great way to program your thinking style. And its so true when you say its our negative affirmations can be the worst. Sometimes like self sabotage.

yes agree with the self sabotage reflection! It can be, while we can be gentle on ourselves and change that.

My problem with affirmations is that they are up against a lifetime of mental conditioning, our mind is firmly set in its ways and without awareness of its deluded belief system and habitual nature, it can be difficult to change. Another one is that a lot of people have the desire to be rich and famous with the delusion that this will make them happy but it simply won't. The feeling of one needing something to be happy stems from the mind so no matter how rich or famous people become, they will still 'need' more. I enjoyed your post all the same and look forward to seeing more.

goodness yea I know that thing with the rich and famous stuff, I used to do those ones all the time. Then I realized I was only trying to help myself and not the world and it also did make me feel weak because I wasn't getting to my goal. I stopped those, while I know at the same time there are people who say them for good reasons. Thank you for your comment!
