RE: So Much Paperwork for New Professional Job Fields

in #life7 years ago

This is a coin with "all" sides. There will come a time when you have too much experience. Your pay for that education, level of experience and skill set will be a threat to the ladder. The interview process also now includes: testing at home for 2-3 hours, youtube style videos answering questions they pose to you in written format, skype or face time interviews, telephone interviews by multiple parties and then follow-up in person interviews in different offices/locations with different people -- and of course, several hours worth of conflict review paperwork to review and sign NOT including anything related to the 1-2 hours worth of coverage paperwork should they decide to make you an offer at all (which could take 3-4 weeks) resulting in possibly nothing but a simple "at will" employment offer -- which means, after all that, they owe you nothing, not even a reason, to give you the "pink slip". The industrial age is dead.

Great that you said this. During my job search I did not just apply in my profession level but all job levels and even entry level type jobs. I could not even get a job delivering pizza or fast food. I could not even get into a job I previously had. These all came with either the no statement of why or that I was over qualified now for the jobs. There is no rebuttal ability for these in most cases. Even trying to just say I am just willing to work becuase of the current market is not accepted when you can say anything. In the end its like your closing its 'at will' and pray you have the job tomorrow.
