Journey to Authenticity #003 - A Crash is an Opportunity

Many people, if not all, will experience a certain ‘crash’ in their lives. Perhaps they even experience more than one crash and they probably did. It doesn’t matter what kind of crash it is. One of my best friends once taught me: “Every tear is salt.”

Perhaps one of your parents died recently, perhaps your dearest lover decided to move on without you. Perhaps your dog had to be put down or your favourite boy band decided to break up.

It doesn’t matter what causes you to be sad or cry. The tears will still taste the same. It’s ridiculous when you aren’t ‘allowed’ to be sad, because someone or something told you your cause of sadness isn’t bad enough to cry over. It’s important to give space to those emotions.

Anyway, one of my biggest crashes was inevitable. It happened in September 2011 and looking back to those 7 years, I’m happy it happened. It was the break up after a 7 yearlong relationship filled with dependency, fear and manipulation. If I look back on it now, I can’t believe I was in there. Don’t get me wrong, we had fun too, but we were both far from ready to go into this relationship.

There was something ‘wrong’ with me. Of course there was something wrong with her as well, but you can’t change a person and you can only have control over your own actions (insofar you can’t ultimately control anything in life).

I decided to become a ‘man slut’ and enjoy my single life that I haven’t felt in 7 years. Actually, I have never really experienced a single life, because as soon as this girl came into my life, we were the first to cling onto each other.

After 2 weeks of utter misery, I pulled myself together and became inspired. “Now I’m going to do what I have always wanted”: A slutty life filled with women and one night stands. I went to Google and typed in “how to seduce women.”
