Unalome tattoo, birthday gift
Tattoos are scars but with better stories.
A greeting from my friends! I was recently on my birthday and wanted to celebrate this new return to the sun with something I always remember and that had meaning for me beyond a birthday cake or a thunderous party.
That's how I finally decided to get a little tattoo I've wanted for a while.
Unalome Tatoo
Steemit has brought many things into my life, growth of all kinds and the opportunity to meet very special people, for example the guys from Shamanas Tattoo:
@nahupuku a bohemian, poet and madman as they say out there hahahaha is actually a very comprehensive artist and with great sensitivity.
Also @valeriabandes, artist, publicist, cartoonist, tattoo artist, pole dancer and sea lover as she defines herself. She's the one who did my tattoo.
Why a unalome?
A unalome is a Buddhist symbol that symbolizes the path to enlightenment. The spirals represent the ups and downs, the wanderings that we make in our lives as we acquire consciousness, the straight path represents the path towards wisdom, nirvana, illumination, evolution...
In this case I wanted to finish it off with a small lotus flower which is the symbol of awakening, of rebirth. The lotus flower sprouts from swampy waters or mud to make way for the light and show all its purity and beauty, which fits in a perfect metaphor of life.
Your heart is full of fertile seeds waiting to sprout. Just as a lotus flower emerges from mud to blossom in all its splendor, so does the interaction of the cosmic breath make the spirit blossom to bear fruit in this world. Morihei Ueshiba

And so I began a new return to the sun, with the vibration and energy of a unalome, forward, with a reminder in my skin that we can be existential nomads, but always in constant evolution.

I never got any tattoos because I was afraid I'd grow bored with them and regret my decision (as I did with my piercings back in the 90s) but I always appreciate a beautiful, meaningful tattoo when I see one :)

I love the tattoo! Such a good reminder that life has spirals and turns and twists, but to just keep on your path. The lotus flower is a lovely touch. It was my birthday last week, so happy belated birthday to you!
