Rebel in the Rye is a movie that inspired by Jerome David Salinger. He was a writer of a famous novel which was entitled The Catcher in the Rye In 1951.

The Catcher in the Rye , has sold over 65 million copies and has been translated into 30 languages. It continues to sell 250.000 copies every year and considered as one of the most important novels of the 20th Century.

About Jerome David Salinger

Jerome David Salinger spent his childhood in Manhattan, New York. He was born there on January 1, 1919. Sol Salinger was Salinger's and his mother name was Marie. Doris was his older sister and she was the only sibling he had.

When he was 36 years old, he married Claire Douglas on February 1955. From their marry the blessed to have two children which were named Margaret, born on December 10, 1955) and Matthew, born on February 13, 1960.

An apartment at 300 East 57th Street was his former place until Salinger moved to Cornish, New Hampshire In 1953. He stayed in Cornish, New Hampshire until he passed away on January 27, 2010 at the age of 91.
