In some parts of our country Nigeria, it is no longer news when people say women are the pillars of the home. They farm, they trade, they will do anything to make sure the family have their daily bread. For the past one month, I have been privileged to witness this first hand in Kwale, Delta State. Women here are very strong and hardworking.

The produce from their farming are sold at the local market and later transported to big cities and towns.

In Kwale, you will find beautiful and modern houses built and owned by women from their farm produce and yield, they have also used these means of livelihood to train their children up to the University level.

Single Mothers often fit into this category of women described above. They often shoulder the responsibilities of the family alone.
