China Town San Francisco November 14 & 15 2016
I adore China Town in San Francisco! Back in 2001 I lived in Corte Madera, California and I took every opportunity to visit China Town in SF. I was still new to California then and living so close to SF was wonderful... Corte Madera is only about 20 minutes away by bus.
Anyway it had been many years since I was able to visit again but in November of 2016 @yenmoon and I needed to go there and so we rented a motel room just an easy walk away from this magical area of joy and wonder!
Day one:
The following are pictures we took of our adventure there. Walking around the in the area near China Town and of course in China Town itself.
I of course did not at that time realize that I would be making posts here at Steemit so I didn't bother taking notes in relation to the different shops or restaurants we visited...
So I am not able to share names with you. But I assure you if you take a trip to China Town you will discover your own special gems in the experience...
And of course for those of you that have been to SF perhaps you will see some things to bring back memories of your own.
This was the first time that @yenmoon had been to SF so that made the experience even More special!
For example she had only ever seen Zoltar in the movies!
And now she's just hanging out with Zoltar just like in the movies! Pretty cool for sure! :-)
So you know I had to get several pictures of this! :-)
Now let's give Zoltar some money and see what he says!
So cool! We must be in a movie!
Such a fun time we are having here! Zoltar is talking! Did he move a little? Hmmm I don't remember...
I think his hand may have moved a little... Hmmm just don't remember for sure...
And then these little fortune cards come out and you read your fortune...
I don't remember right now what they said but I remember we had fun with it. I'm sure we kept the cards. It will be fun to look at them again. I'll ask @yenmoon where they are. I bet she knows. :-)
She's so happy to have a card from Zoltar! OMG she is just sooooo cute!
Yup meeting Zoltar was definitely a fun experience for all concerned! :-)
Okay after Zoltar now what?
Well now that we're in China Town let's go into a shop and see what we see!
Aha! Now must be the time to put money in the belly of a Buddha and make a wish!
Anybody wanna dance?
This was just one of many shops we visited. This Buddha is pretty near the front of the shop and you see him as you enter...
Okay time to feed the Buddha belly and make a wish!
And then...
It's my turn!
I don't know if you can make out the price tag on this "Happy Buddha" but he was selling for $19.950.00 USD.
Nope this beauty did not come home with us. We put money in his belly, made a wish and moved along... :-)
I've got a feeling that you can find anything in China Town...
And if you've got enough money... You can take that anything home!
And now for something completely different!
No we did not enter a porn shop. I'm imagining that these are probably some kind of fertility symbols...
Too bad these came out a little blurry, but since it's the only one I had I wanted to include it here...
The shops in China Town are wonderful! So much to explore and look at!
You just never know what you'll find around the next corner...
China Town has some kind of mysterious attraction for me...
Once back in 2001 while I was exploring China Town by myself...
I walked into a shop and started looking around...
I couldn't help but notice that the shop keeper seemed a bit nervous...
He asked me what did I want... I said I was just there to look around...
He said he was closed. That did not make any sense to me since he had no sign saying 'closed' and he just didn't look 'closed'.
So I said something like, since I was already there could I not just look around for a minute more and maybe buy something?
He was becoming more noticeably agitated by the second but I just didn't get it...
Then he told me that nothing was for sale and that I just needed to leave because everything had already been bought.
What? I could not have heard that right. So I said, "everything is sold?"
He said, something like, "Yes! Nothing for sale! You go now!"
At that moment I suddenly had a flash of insight!
Something was going on and I wasn't supposed to be there!
My presence was a complication that he was attempting to avoid and I needed to get out while I still could!
I could feel his fear and it was telling me that I had walked into the wrong place at the wrong time and it was really time to leave! So I did...
Yup... You know China Town has a dark-side too...
And now back to our present story at hand... This cup I'm holding, I purchased this day at this shop. I love this little cup and it's one of my favorites!
I loved this gong too, but I guarantee that it was way out of my price range!
Oh well... Maybe next time? :-)
Hey lookit that!
We must be in China Town!
A Trolly! We must be in San Francisco!
Day two:
Hey let's find a restaurant!
Okay I'm hungry!!!!!! :-)
Just let me set up this camera a little better...
Chopsticks anyone?
Whose got a pretty smile!? :-)
We both do! :-)
She makes my whole life happier!
Food time! Sorry I don't remember the names of any of these places but I can tell you they were definitely in the vicinity of China Town...
That's an interesting look... I wonder what was going on. Maybe she's playing with her food. :-)
Okay now we're getting somewhere!
Oh man that was tasty!
I Love Ramen
Here I asked the waitress to take a picture of us. Thank you!
The food was very delicious! We will probably find this place again when we return...
Next day different restaurant. We will be leaving SF later tonight but for now we will continue to enjoy our visit...
Flowering green tea...
Very cool and yummy!
It was fun to watch it continue to grow in my mug...
Wow..... Seriously I think this is so awesome...
A nice steaming hot mug of flowering green tea! Actually I must admit that it was my very first ever and I was completely fascinated by it!
A tea to remember!
A meal to remember...
A trip to remember!
Okay we'll head back to the motel after this and start packing...
But it's really been a great little mini-vacation and we'll be back!
Thank you San Francisco! Thank you China Town!

Thanks for you great comment!
It seems like I must have more pictures of the street view of China Town. If I find them I'll do a part 2.
The street view of San Francisco China Town is very nice but I didn't really have very many available for this posting. You got to see the inside of some of the shops but not really much of the outside street view.
Most of the street views in this posting are very close to China Town but not in it directly.
I'll try to find more of my pictures so I can show more of the China Town streets. :-)
