Wouldn't the app from Black Mirror be handy? We are all so different and it takes huge amount of time to discover, peel, or reveal oneself to another and time is limited, very much so.
I don't want an app and I doubt it would work very well as people have free will and their energy can change throughout life. The joy is in the discovery, it is also our sorrow.
We tend to believe that the right job, the right person, the right place should just be handed to us. But how fucking boring is that? Take joy in the duality of life.
Not boring at all to be honest. The duality is still there, no matter how much you filter life and the options of it. It's just less time spent on searching.
But as this discussion proves, people have different mindsets, different needs and wants. To discover all that takes time, a limited resource we have.
This is a good thing to realise, it frees up a lot of brain space :) just don't take it as far as I have and run screaming when there's too much contention ;D
Life becomes a good bit easier when we let go of our happiness, or success, or something else being "contingent" on other people or events outside us. We can't control any of that stuff. At best, we can learn to stay awake and be aware of how we respond to these people and situations, as they come up.

So much power in who you (we) are to give it away to someone else. Gotta love and trust the essence of who we are.
