"Just look at Japan, South Korea, and China, their self-obsession industry is now even more prominent." This makes me wonder if this change is part of something deeper in all of us. It seems like where ever one goes the people are all too ready to trade what they have for this new way of living. It is largely based on lies, of course, but I would imagine that the lies all appeal to something all of these different cultures share. I can't say for certain what it is, but maybe the people who sell this type of life, are poking at some buried instinct that once drove us to seek out the better berries or fresher meat in the distant past but that is just a guess.
