[TIL] William Shakespeare wore earrings
Ha ha ....... an amazing and funny info is just waiting for you steemians. Today I learnt that William Shakespeare, the legend of English Literature, wore earnings. In the ancient England wearing earnings for male adults was a fabulous fashion. Actually at the time of the English Renaissance the popularity of this fashion was dramatically increased. Even Shakespeare wore one earning. At the time of Shakespeare earrings were emblematic of poets.

How interesting. Apparently the connection with poets continues to the modern era as the more recent earring trend seems to have started with musicians--mainly rock musicians who could be considered 'poets' in the sense that songs they write are essentially poems put to music. Note I didn't say the they were necessarily talented poets! LOL!
