Fire Cat Rescue

"Bringing a lost pet back to these folks who've lost everything brings them back from the darkness and gives them hope." ~ Shannon Jay

The devastating California wildfires may have died down, but now the difficult task of capturing the lost pets, primarily cats, and reuniting then with their families goes on.

Shannon Jay is doing awesome work. He travels through soot and ash daily, scouring the scorched neighborhoods searching for pets who were separated from their owners during chaotic evacuations. Usually burned, he patiently coaxes the stressed and in pain kitties from their hiding spots then rushes them to a vet clinic. UC Davis school of veterinary has some touching cat and human reuniting stories: tears guaranteed.

He's a great guy- drop him a line on his Facebook and say hi!

He has a GoFundMe page I encourage you to check out his tireless calling and help him help the displaced pets reunite with their families by donating and sharing to your social networks.

Anything helps. Be blessed my friends.

That is truly a labor of love. I'm glad there are such wonderful people in the world.

Brings hope doesn't it?

And a healthy dose of inspiration 😊

Absolutely!

What an absolutely wonderful man! It's the beautiful souls of people like him, who head out following the devastation of natural disasters to rescue these animals, that need our encouragement and support. I remember how hard I was 'cutting onions' when watching the videos of families and pets being reunited after Hurricane Harvey. 😭

For this sweet post, here's a pic of one of my adopted cats, Laya, who loves to sneak into the towel closet. 😁

Glad to know there are such wonderful people out there! My cousin had to evacuate, though she thankfully managed to have her two (fur) babies in tow and is blessed that the fires didn't actually damage her house, but she knows so many people who had to leave pets behind. This man is truly doing some kind of deity-blessed work, I wish him all the best in the world.

Yes, with so much devastation it's beautiful to see little miracles like that which Shannon is making happen 💜

Your cousin is truly blessed.

I look forward to seeing you around :)
