RE: Ask, Instead of punishing kids, would iT not be better to replace punishment with how to meditate?
I fear it would not be better. Maybe when they're riled up or stressed or need a break, it could work wonders, but if you do it like this, kids won't see it as something in lieu of punishment, but just as a different kind of punishment, meaning you run the very likely risk of teaching them that meditation is not something good, but something bad, akin to being hit - after all, it's punishment! You very well may make them hate meditation with this which would be sad. I'm not saying it's necessarily bad and to definitely not do it, but to think carefully about it and draw your own conclusions.
Well meditation is a tool, not a goal on his own.
So the whole point is to make the kids understand how there feelings and emotions worked, and they could use meditation for that.
Just tell them to go meditate is useless if they dont understand what to do with it, or how to use it in there benefit.
Then indeed, they would hate it.
