Should we try to 'fit-in' or not?
Fitting ourselves in is a real struggle. We feel the urge to fit-in the society, in our group, in our family, in office and where not. It's human nature to be in a group so that's we don't feel 'left out'. But if this became a struggle and makes our life awful then we must think twice.
If you don't feel like fitting in this 'stereotype' world then it's okay to step out and make your own move. But there are many examples when people take the 'step-out' meaning wrongly and try to prove themselves differently which makes a huge negative impact. I would say, in that case trying to fit-in is the best strategy.
Maybe my words sound contradictory to you. Let me explain!
There's no shame in living a normal life. It's totally okay if you want to be one of the crowds who does the same, live the same and want the same. It's nothing to feel ashamed if you are trying to fit-in. We need social acceptance and approval- to grow, to improve, to work as a human. So, there's nothing to feel bad about. It's not always like people fear of rejection. Rather it's more like they feel comfortable to go with the flow and feels it right. If so, then it's totally okay.
Now the question is, should we then fight to go out of the flow?
Well, if you feel like the rule is not for you then you must find your own way. But always remember, do things in the right way. Prioritize others more than yourself. Because our 'out of flow' movement can create a negative impact on society. And there is a high chance that maybe unknowingly we will make the thing wrong. I'm not saying people can't go out of the flow. But we should be careful about our steps.
Another thing is, having the courage to make it different. We have to approve that we all don't have them. So, if not, then try your best to make yourself strong so that you can fight for what you believe and want to be.
There's no shame if you try to fit-in or not. It's totally okay to choose any of that. Just be sure and courageous what you are doing!
