Labuan island - Steem Run #2
I got up this morning, put on my running shoes and started to run with my husband. Somehow, we went different directions on the third mile as he wanted to continue running and I wanted to look for the loo. This is the part where I'm poor at disciplining internal bowel timing.
While I was searching for the public toilet, I ran a little and walked, I ran again and then slow walks, instead of dwelling on my abdominal war inside, I focused on my surroundings and started taking pictures.
This Chinese temple is called the "Shimizu Patriarch" at Jalan Rancha-Rancha about 5km away from town. There's a big red pillar on the right and on top of it is the Budha of Mercy.
Down to memory lane…I used to work here before. I was employed in the year 1995 among 5,000 employees during its heydays. Back then it was called Sabah Shipyard Sdn Bhd (SASHIP) which was established in 1972, way before the oil and gas sector was blooming. It was Labuan's economic lifeline till the late 90s when its operations were severely affected by the global economic recession. Currently, there are 130 employees who are mainly involved in yard maintenance and servicing.
About 800 meters distance from here, I found a coffee shop and finally set free from the discomfort earlier…had a glass of water too. Then continued my running mission and took this picture on a bridge.
The water village at Jalan Patau-Patau. You don’t need to get on a boat to the water village as it is well connected by road.
On this picture is the Kg. Gersik bypass road completed in July 2016. This road spans about 1.15km to ease traffic congestion at Jalan Arsat and Jalan Tun Mustapha (main road to Labuan airport)
After about 500 meters, here you can see Bataras Hypermarket across the road. I still have less than 3km to go till I reach home.
Mission accomplished for this weekend workout.
Till then…see you again on my next island running photography posts.

Someone should organise a Labuan Steem run. Stay healthy, spread the good news and best part get rewarded.
Good idea and pay by Steem. When the signup reaches 200, we can organize a 5km fun run kan kan kan... 😉😊
