What it takes to be a good leader!!!

The essential elements to be a great Leader:
A good leader must be more than just a hard working individuals. He must have excellent
people skills and know what is required to do. He must be able to read other people’s minds
and know how to address certain situations and how to react. Here are a few of the essential
elements for becoming a great leader and a person who can motivate others.
"Communication is the real work of leadership," says HBS professor Nitin Nohria. The success
of the team can depend on the communication done by the leader and the team. You can do
this through logic and facts or you can use pathos and wok through their emotions to get things
done.

Discipline is probably one of the most essential elements in leadership. This can be defined as the ability to adhere to a particular practice and to be humble can inspire others to do the same.
The ability to adjust can also contribute to being a good leader. When a leader recognizes that change is needed and creates an environment that supports this theory, the team will feel comfortable to seeking opportunities when change arises rather than stepping back because of fear. By eliminating fear of change, you can encourage others to think outside the
box and change their thinking habits for idea generation.

To make the focus about the team can indicate good leadership. Good leaders must be selfless and put all of the focus on the team and not on themselves. If you put all of the attention on your team, you will shine. You have to be able to listen to your team. Alternatively, do you only hear them talking, but actually do nothing about the topic? If the ideas are only of your own then most likely you are a bad listener and only take in what you what to hear. Making sure that everyone feels apart of the team and that no one is left out or forgotten is important. Value each opinion and contribution, this way each member will feel important and then success will follow.

As a leader, most of your divisions are more than just black and white and you must be able to think past this and go with feeling as well. This comes with experience, knowledge and intuition; this is your gut feeling. A great leader must know how to motivate and understand the team and their goals. Thus, empathy is very important to be a great leader as it encourages the team to use creative thinking and ambition when making decisions . To have good people skills, will help when communicating and understanding your team members. The communication between a leader and the team is of out most importance to ensure that each individual understands what is necessary to do.
