My Vacation With @ladymaharet!
It's been a while since I posted. The reason why? Well, mainly because I ventured to the Great White North to see my girlfriend and supremely talented artist, @ladymaharet!
First thing we did? Get me Carl's Jr. I live in Alabama, where we are cursed with Hardee's instead of Carl's Jr. Being the gracious and loving woman she is, she obliged me with a trip through the drivethru as soon as we were in town.
Speaking of driving into town, I flew into Calgary, which is a solid three hours from Edmonton. The ride back was good, and I got to see Alberta from the road, which is one of the best ways to see the country I think. It reminded me a lot of Oklahoma. The land is relatively flat, and you can see for miles in any direction. Back when I lived in California, I could see the same sort of space once I headed an hour east from home. In Alabama, there are so many hills and pine trees that you rarely get a chance to see the horizon.
I also had a chance to sample some of the strange flavors of the Frozen Northlands. Ketchup chips are delicious in a small bag, but the flavor wears thin if you try to eat a big bag. All Dressed, on the other hand? That shit is the bomb.

We visited the largest mall in North America since the weather wasn't terribly cold (by terribly cold, I mean it was still basically freezing the whole time). It was crazy. Not only do they have a water park in the damn place, but they have a full-fledged amusement park, three food courts, a bar walk, three stories of shops, and a friggin' pirate ship! Needless to say, we had a great time. We visited there twice while I was up there, and I got to eat overpriced mall Greek food the second time. It was delicious.
We went out one night to see a comedy show at a casino with her friend Kaitlyn and her husband Patrick. The comedy show was hilarious, but this was, I think, the highlight of my evening:
That's right. There is, in Edmonton, Canada, a video slot machine with Vlad Dracula's face on it. Vlad the Impaler is a slot machine. What a time to be alive! We went from the comedy club down a bar road called Whyte Ave., and we visited a few bars as we made our way down the street. Thanks to the fact the USD is worth 1.24 CAD, I ended up not paying much at all for drinks throughout the evening.
I also met her son, Traven, for the first time. It was a bit awkward for me, being some place completely new and trying to build rapport with a kid who didn't seem particularly enthused about my presence, but I think I did alright. All in all, it was a great vacation, and I'm so glad I had the chance to come up and visit her.

Yay! You finally made the vacation post! But didn't post any of our awesome snapchat photos. XD it's okay. Thank you for venturing up into this frozen wasteland to visit me and for meeting everyone who means something to me. I love you. :)

We did! I wish we'd had more time to spend together, and that all the crap that went down on the Block at the beginning of my trip didn't happen right then, but all in all I'm very happy I got to see her. :)
It was fine, really. I was just happy I got to see you again, even if it wasn't long enough. Lol
