Yep, I get that feeling and Im sitting here in my room!
It is at the same time breathtaking and scary :) Especially during the time that we visited, there was constant rain. We were scared from collapsing rocks or landslides.
If I ever go traveling its one place I will keep in mind. Passing through those sheer rock faces, wow, like you say, looks scary and breathtaking. Also the journey into the rocks must be strange, to be inside so much rock. Iv never been in a cave that big before.
Bulgaria is an excellent tourist destination. It has a very bautiful nature and a very deep history :) Also it's not a very expensive destination. So maybe you should consider it one day :D
