Epiphany
Tomorrow is Epiphany or The Saint Three Kings Day as we prefer to call it here. It's a day when we recall of biblical Magi (Balthazar, Melchior, and Caspar), also known as Three Wise Men or Three Kings, who visited Jesus after his birth bringing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
Not only in my family but it's also a custom here that the first Sunday after the Epiphany the Christmas tree decoration should be taken down and the three removed. As this year Epiphany is on Sunday, I'm not sure should we remove the tree tomorrow or keep it till next Sunday.
Additional confusion added our city mayor and city authorities when we noticed today that day started to remove all the lights and decorations around the city.
I'm also sad as this year, with everything that was going on, I didn't have time to take almost a single shot of this bright, joyful and colorful beauty, and there were many of them all around the city.
Now I'm thinking should we remove our Christmas tree tomorrow or not?! Despite the custom, I would like to keep it at least until next Sunday.
What do you think???
