Religion : The Mess we Are In

Hello STEEMIANS, happy Sunday to us all. Today u want to put across to us the cancer called religion, how it has been abused and used to oppress the common man. It's agreeable that nothing should stand higher than the integrity of the human Race.

The only miracle I can find in religion is that not one follower questions the silliness of it.

There has been a wanton abuse of religions across the world from Christianity to Islam to Traditional religions, this has made atheist further strengthen their view that there's no God.

From manipulation of the devotees to outright falsehood now preached by religious leaders, to the various sheds of religious intolerance that has taken over many nations of the world, there is need to call to caution every form of religion that doesn't respect Human Rights especially the right to life and freedom of association and worship.

In Nigeria for instance we can no longer sleep in peace for fear of when the next massacre may happen or where the next bomb may be dropped. These killings come under religious and tribal colourations and shades

It's not about hanging cross on our necks as dogs, how Christlike are Christians?
One of the most abused symbols of the Christian faith is the Cross or crucifix. You don't need to wear the cross/crucifix around to be called a believer or to be identified with Christ and His Church, the Cross is in us, the salvation of the Christ, what use is hanging/flaunting the cross, yet with terrible lives?

Am not against our brethren who pray with the cross, hang it, meditate by it, wear it, it's not bad, but remember, these things are elements of religion and Jesus didn't come to die for religion but for our salvation.

Christianity is not a cross hanging business, if it were, there would have been no need Christ coming to die, He would have just instructed us to pick our cross at any international market or supermarket.

People now use the cross to get government house contracts and dinner tickets, if you must seek favour and appointments, must it be through religion?

Jesus was not a religious man, He didn't come to start a religious movement with followers who carry out empty and cold rituals, He came to save, redeem and to just bless. The anti Christ of today shall not be the one who speaks against errors and wrong teachings, but he who understands the truth but keeps quiet.

Teach the truth, even if it's not religiously correct, even if your church finds it hard to swallow , God defies religion. Go to church but be certain your church is going to God. For in the end we will stand before God not before Church

If our mosques, churches does not teach us love, tolerance, peace then it's most likely a false religion. So many lies and deceits going on in religious places of worship. People are being milked and deceived, robbery in the houses of prayer are going on in geometric progression. Little wonder Karl Marx said the other day:

Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature , the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people.

It's time people of the world arose to this terrible creeping anomalies and make the world a better place. Places of worship should come under direct governmental watch and check because in the end, those going there are extracts of the world's citizens .

Most times this intolerance are not just traceable to religious institutions but also governments and their parastatals.
I think enough is enough and the world must arise and speak up against these anomalies. Love should lead!!
