10 Ways to avoid any pest or insect in your house

in #life6 years ago

Do you want a home free of pests, but do not like to use unpleasant and toxic pesticides? The chemicals are highly damaging and can kill not only the insects, but also your health and that of your family. Recent research shows that these products may be related to many health problems that are quite serious. This article will teach you how to get rid of the unwanted insects found in the house using natural methods that are as effective as pesticides, but not harmful at all.

We do not want to wait any longer to show you these tricks that are quite useful in the process of getting rid of domestic pests.

1- Cockroaches

Cockroaches go out to look for food and water, so it is very likely that you will never see them if you do not leave anything to eat outside the cupboard. If that does not solve the problem, you can make a trap. Get an empty plastic bottle, cut it, and arrange it as shown in the image above to look like a funnel. Fasten it with tape. Pour some water and place this trap where cockroaches appear regularly. They can enter, but not leave. This artifact will capture the insects one by one, so this method will not end the entire nest.

2- Fruit flies

It does not take much for these annoying flies to trap the fruits to appear at home, and that is why we want to show you how to make a trap to get rid of them. Pour half a cup of apple cider vinegar into a glass jar, cut some pieces of any ripe or rotten fruit, roll them on a piece of paper to make a funnel and place it in the container, creating a trap. Place the artifact in the infested area and leave it overnight. Make sure you get rid of the jar with the bugs inside it.

3- Mosquitoes

The essential oils of citronella and lemongrass are well-known repellents for mosquitoes. Use a candle or an oil diffuser to keep these unpleasant bugs away from your home. Another way to eradicate them: melt some coconut oil, add a few drops of essential oil and mix well. Wait until it hardens and then apply on the skin. Remember that you should never put undiluted essential oil on your skin.

4- Flies

The main thing to remember is that flies hate lavender. Take a sponge or a small cloth and add a lot of essential oil without diluting it. Put it in a jar and leave it uncovered somewhere in the house. The insects will not like that! You can also make a spray with lavender oil by adding approximately 30 drops in a small bottle with a little water. Remember: you should avoid any contact of the oils with the skin.

5- Ants

Mix one teaspoon of alcohol, one of dishwashing liquid and one cup of water, and pour it all into a small bottle. Shake until it begins to bubble, and spray in the area where you have found ant trails. Thanks to alcohol, they will stay away from your home.

6- Carpenter Bees

Carpenter bees are essential pollinators for any wild flora. If you have a nest in your house, it might be a good idea to contact a beekeeper in your area who is happy to take them out of your home instead of killing them. If that is not a valid option, spray the infested area with citrus oil spray. To do this, place a few different citrus peels (grapefruit, lemon, tangerine, lime or orange) in water and boil for 10-15 minutes. Pour the contents into a spray bottle and spray into the holes of the bees.

7- Wasps

Prevention is always the easiest way to get rid of problems. Wasps are very territorial, so it is likely that if you get rid of the nests near your house, you will solve the problem even before it starts. To eradicate them, in case they are already at home, you should mix two tablespoons of dishwashing liquid with water and place the solution in a bottle with spray. Spray directly on the nest.

8- Spiders

Apparently, spiders hate the smell of tea tree oil. You must mix half a cup of water, half a vinegar, and a few drops of the essential oil mentioned above. Spray on the corners and cabinets of your house. That will be enough to move them away.

9- Bedbugs

Add about 10 drops of eucalyptus essential oil in a cup of water, shake well and pour into a bottle. Spray the mattress and clothes on your bed to ward off bed bugs. If you travel frequently, it may be a good idea to carry eucalyptus oil in your luggage. Place a few drops on a handkerchief and clean the bed in the hotel room where you are going to host. It never hurts what you do for your well-being.

10- Stinky insects

The easiest and safest way to get rid of these little smelly and unpleasant insects is with a spray of garlic. You must mix 2 cups of water with 4 teaspoons of garlic powder. Shake well and spray the plants and areas around the windows to keep them away from your home.

Remember that preventing the appearance of insects is always easier than dealing with an existing pest. Do you have your own tricks to keep your house free of insects?
