Rambutan Ripe For Picking
A lovely looking bunch of rambutan that I picked today right from the garden of my mom. This is the second year after a long wait that this rambutan had given us fruit that looks quirky and cute. Last year, we did not have a lot as most of the young fruits fell before reaching maturity. This year we were all surprised to see we got a lot of them showing. The tree had grown taller and we could not quite see the fruit if they are ripe or not
A selfie with the ripe and interesting fruit
This one bunch is low lying that is why I managed to take this selfie. We were happy to see them mature unlike last year. We did not expect this tree to grow and bear fruit. They go in pair and the other tree does not bear fruit so I was thinking that one is male and the other is female. hmmm one tree pollinates the flowers of the other tree but only one of them gets to bear fruits that is how I think what is happening here.
more fruit this year than the previous one
the taste test
My family says the fruits are sweeter and juicier this year. Perhaps the tree is now adjusted to the weather and climate or had established itself enough to produce these lovely rambutan fruits. I agree with my family the rambutan tasted sweeter this time. I feel thankful we have this tree now and enjoy the fruits. Unlike before we have to go to the grocery store to buy them.
Hope you enjoyed reading about our Rambutan. Thank you for dropping by
