The retrocausality factor, that the brain acts unconsciously up to ten seconds before the conscious mind thinks it makes the decision brings up the deep philosophical question of whether or not we actually have free will.
There's also the thesis proposed by Sheldrake and others that our brain isn't where memories are stored, rather it is in Earth's electromagnetic field itself, which accounts for effects of morphic resonance and telepathic moments (like knowing who is calling a second before the phone rings). In that scenario our brain is our "private crypto key" to access the "cloud".
