You are not superior to the most inferior of people; you are not inferior to the most superior of them either.

Earlier today I stumbled upon that comic which triggered a torrent of thoughts in my mind, not about arrogance or bride but about what feeling superior can cause to us.

About the comic:
Both mothers took advantage of the encounter with the man to let the kids learn the importance of studying. They gave their kids negative message about the man’s job and taught them to judge others. That teaches us to be aware of what we say to children because we don’t know what part of our speech would stick to their minds.

About feeling superior:

Superiority feels good, it actually sustains our egos, makes them bigger and bigger. Now we need to maintain our superiority, we don’t do this or that, and we are more worthy than him or her. We even teach our kids that they are superior because of us.

But what does superiority cost us?

Actually, maintaining feeling superior costs us losing alignment with who we actually are. We ignore or even suppress parts of ourselves that make us feel less superior or make us look like those who are inferior. Watch yourself at these moments you act from the place within, where you feel better than others. Let it go and allow yourself to live the way you are regardless of how you rank to anyone else.

Imagine yourself living in a world where no one is superior or inferior to the others. All humans there are equal. You would unburden yourself from the feeling of superiority and all what it takes to maintain. You would never make an effort to protect the image you maintain in others’ minds because there is no need for this as we are all equal.

Actually this is not a fancy world, it is the real world we live in right now but our egos delude us to believe otherwise.
