I love the legend of King Arthur and Excalibur, the once and future king who is said to return if Britania is in peril. While much is myth, one such is the Lady of the Lake was the High Priestess of Avalon and the sword is an ancient blade and treasure of Avalon (an area around what is now Glastonbury but in ancient times was a wet land full of lakes and ponds.)

Growing up it was my favourite legend so read many books, both fiction and myth based about it.
