First post: To be in process
To be in process
Hi, Steemit. My name is Alexey. This is my first post here. I will start not from telling about myself, but from sharing my thoughts, which run faster than I do. At the present day, you have to run, if you are not a deadhead. Deadheads have plenty of time, as they watch the others running. And those, who run, have no time, as they have to run. For example:
- Why do people eat fast food?
- Because there is no time to cook, damn it.
- Why does corn grow so fast?
- Because it is genetically modified.
- Why do I have seven fingers?
- No time to explain, get your corn and run.
Now, let’s take another example. Goethe had written Faust for 60 years, but I read it in 2 days. The Chinese had built the wall for 2000 years not for hiding from their neighbors during getting sunburn. And here is another story about a man who has had no time for haste: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dashrath_Manjhi.
Ok, I will not spin out time, as time is precious. I will tell you why I have started it all. By the way, I have caught my thoughts. (while i sleep, my wife does business)
I am an actor, a stage director, and a scriptwriter. I live in Moscow. I am 27 years old. Five years ago, I arrived from Siberia to Moscow to become famous, rich and successful. I have become neither rich nor famous, but I often feel myself happy. It turns out that happiness is not only money, fame and women.
Yes, I have not yet achieved great results, but I work in a good theater and I love to act on stage. I mean, I love the process. The result (money, fame, etc.) usually comes after the process. Or does not come. Still I am satisfied. Because I love the PROCESS. And I am fond of writing. And today is the third day like I am sitting, digging in my head and trying to turn my thoughts into words to write an article. But I am enjoying it! I do not care how many votes or how much money I will get for my post, because I have already put myself in it and got satisfaction from the honest work. When I finish writing, I will wipe the sweat from my forehead and say, "Gosh, I did it!" And I don't want to run, I want to do what I love, I want to be in process...
Dissatisfaction - is what makes people run at breakneck speed. Dissatisfaction is a high quality, efficient and inexhaustible fuel. You can run from childhood to old age, from left to right, from top to bottom, inside and out. In old age, when your engine runs only at low speed on this fuel, you will damn everybody and regret for your best years.
When we start thinking that satisfaction comes from result, we get quick and easy money and grow financial pyramids. We get semi-finished products and fast food restaurants. Parents give their children to nurses, because they have no time for their children, as they have to earn for paying the nurses. Therefore, there appears a system "buy cheaper – sell more expensive", which is not creative and useful for the society. There appear cheap serials and pulp fiction and post plagiarism... because there is no time to do it well, because people do not want to devote themselves to the occupation, they only want to get a quick result.
Would the Mona Lisa become a masterpiece if Leonardo da Vinci had painted it quickly? Would millions of tourists admire Milan Cathedral if it had been constructed within five years instead of seven centuries? However, it is not the time that is important, but the process. When you are involved in process, time spins away. When you are in process, you do not have to run anywhere, as you are on your place. When you do something that you enjoy and do it honestly without attaching to result, you get satisfaction. When you think only about getting the result, you miss the process. However, the result may not come. Besides, the achieved result may dissatisfy you. It means that you will not get joy of the process. Of course, some people run and even step over heads to get the result. But it is such a sad story. As for me, I prefer to stay in process...
P. S. Gosh, I did it.
