Sunday walk in the park

How did you spend your Sunday? Hopefully as you wanted. I had a relaxed one with my wife. Stayed this weekend at home because I did not want to travel as I was away for 5 days last week and did not feel like sitting in the car or train anymore, even though the weather was perfect to breathe some Alp air.
We havd a nice time in the park next to our apartment. The park is called "Ostpark" and lies in the East of Munich. It finally snowed yesterday and we had some snow.
The wind was not strong and the sun was shining. We were not the only ones in the park, there have been people who walked like us, joggers, people with dogs and parents who want to go sledging with their kids.

wie habt ihr euren Sonntag verbracht? Hoffentlich wie ihr wolltet. Ich hatte ein entspannten mit meiner Frau. Waren dieses Wochenende zuhause weil ich wollte nicht reisen weil ich die Woche schon 5 Tage weg war und hatte keine Lust mehr ins Auto oder Zug zu sitzen, obwohl das Wetter perfekt gewesen ist um Alpen Luft zu atmen.
Dafür haben wir uns eine schöne Zeit in dem Park neben unserer Wohnung gemacht. Der Park heißt "Ostpark" und liegt im osten vpn München. Es hat endlich geschneit gestern und wir hatten ein bisschen Schnee.
Der Wind war nicht stark und die Sonne schien. Wir waren nicht die einzigen im Park, es waren Leute die spazierten wie wir, die Jogger, die Leute mit Hunde und Eltern mit ihren Kinder die Schlitten fahren möchten.

Those with the sledge go on a hill which lies in the park. From there you can slide a bit longer. We were also up there and wanted to see the Alps in the distance but it was too overcast. Usually behind the blocks of flats you can see the mighty mountains covered with snow most time of the year.
Because the way up was very muddy we went back to the stairs which led to a small detour. We usually do not make the detour as it is very close to the road and you can hear the cars.

Die mit dem Schlitten gehen auf ein Hügel der im Park liegt. Von dort kann man schon ein bisschen länger fahren. Wir waren auch oben und wollten die Alpen in der Ferne sehen aber es war zu bedeckt. Normalerweise hinten der Wohnblocks sieht man die mächtigen Gebirge die meiste Zeit des Jahres von Schnee bedeckt.
Weil der Weg nach oben sehr matschig war sind wir zurück auf die Treppen gegangen was für ein kleines Umweg führte. Den Umweg machen wir üblich nicht weil es sehr nah an der Straße führt und man hört die Autos.

The lake was partly frozen and the sun reflected in the icy water in the dusk.
A goose family greeted us. The birds that live in the park are very friendly and not aggressive.
In the evening, they gather together in a wind-protected area of the park.

Der See war teils erfroren und die Sonne reflektierte sich in das eisige Wasser in der Dämmerung.
Eine Gans Familie grüßte uns. Die Vögel die in dem Park leben sind sehr freundlich und nicht aggressiv.
Am Abend sammeln sich die zusammen in einer von Wind durch die Bäume beschützte Fläche des Parks.

What I found very sad was that a tree was already blooming this daya due to the warm weather and they are now frozen.
Hopefully they will survive. We have to take better care of our environment.

Was ich als sehr traurig empfand, war es das ein Bäume wegen des warmen Wetters die Tage schon Blüten hatten und die sind jetzt erfroren.
Hoffentlich werden diese noch überleben. Wir müssen besser aufpassen auf unsere Umwelt.

Cool town. I'm glad you managed this walk today. Beautiful area. That tree reminds me of what is known here as the "redbud" - it's a Canadian native, so maybe it will be okay. I would love to go for a walk today, but I'm not too keen on trudging through the foot of snow we had last night! (If I had a nice park so close, I probably would do it anyway as I need to find more pictures soon.) Thanks for sharing!
I did the same as you, but in Herastrau Park, there were some ducks too!

Beautiful pictures. It looks like a lovely park. How nice you have something like that so close to where you live. My Sunday consists of doing laundry and laying on the couch.
My sunday was just as unusual, I went to church came back late because of we hsd a committee meeting. Got back home, relaxed and prepared for this week task
