The Beauty of My City
Sulap Hill is a hill located in the town of Lubuklinggau, Province of South Sumatra, Indonesia. The Sulap hill is an icon of Lubuklinggau City, which is also the pride of the citizen of Lubuklinggau. The height of the Sulap hill is about 700 Mdpl, and its distance from the center of Lubuklinggau city is only 2 Km.
When we hear the name of the Sulap hill, of course we will wonder his name is Sulap Hill (Magic Hill). Including my self who is a native of Lubuklinggau city, who also since high scholl I often visited and climbed Sulap hill, until at this time I really fall in love to Sulap hill. For years I also often wonder and find out the meaning of his name. Here the answers i got so Far:
Since the first, the top of Sulap hill or often half, every day always covered with fog (missing), in the morning until noon.
An object in the vision of our eyes will appear smaller when viewed from a distance and appear larger if viewed at close range. But the Sulap hill is just the opposite, which looks bigger if viewed from a distance and looks smaller if viewed from close range.
Since a long time ago, many people have encountered the objects in the Sulap hill that are not always there, like the Cave, the grave and the stones. That is to say, the objects are not there but many people meet with those objects, but when they get there again the object is not found anymore. (For a story version this one is probably related to the occult).
Stories related to Lubuklinggau Folklore that once known as the Silampari City (Silampari means Missing Princess).
If climbing Sulap hill, we will find many types of plants and many monkeys. From the top of the Sulap hill, we can see the whole city of Lubuklinggau and surrounding areas. At the top there are also bamboo groves, and one of them is the clump of Bambu Berduri. One of the uniqueness and wealth that exist in the Sulap hill and the town of Lubuklinggau. Bambu Berduri has the same tree with other types of bamboo, the difference is that this bamboo has branches and twigs thorny. I myself have never found and heard any type of this bamboo elsewhere. I often choose to climb Sulap Hill to spend the weekend or on vacation. Holiday Alternatives that I think are cheap, not so tiring and I definitely get a holiday that is not inferior to other tourist attractions are expensive. Entrance fee Rp. 2000 / person, and the climbing trip to reach the top of the hill is only about 30 minutes. Normally I would not go up and go down that day (Haiking), but I would rather spend the night or camp at the top. At night I enjoy the beautiful scenery. Being on the rocks at the top of the Sulap hill is incredible. God created that place for me to realize His greatness and one of His forms of love for me. The air and the atmosphere is cool, calm and comfortable. The rock shape is also very comfortable for me to sit and lean. His position that presents me the view of the city of lubuklinggau and surrounding areas, flickering city lights and occasional fog will add to the beautiful scenery. And I get a bonus if that night the sky in garnished full moon shining and millions of stars. I will not stop to admire the greatness of God. Not only that, as early morning starts with the beautiful sound of the call to prayer, I enjoy the changes of the sky which slowly become orange and pink. A thin fog enveloped the city until it was time for the sun to appear and greeted me with a happy smile and open arms. Next I will be pampered by a massage from the warm morning sun that refresh my body and spiritual, while listening to the chanting of the surrounding population, which is the monkeys who are residents on the Top of Sulap hill.
That's a little story from me about sulap hill. Thanks..... May be useful.
